Our Philosophy.

The Derm Effect was founded by Mena Mesdaq, Physician Associate who works in collaboration with Dr. Robert Kearney. Dr. Kearney is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, as well as General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He currently practices in San Diego and works closely with Mena to ensure high quality patient care and safety.

Mena Mesdaq is a San Diego native. She completed her undergraduate degree at UCSD. Shortly thereafter, she attended Loma Linda University to complete her masters degree in Physician Assistant Sciences. Mena has been extremely dedicated to her career as a Physician Assistant. Mena has over 11 years of patient care experience as a PA. She started her career in family and internal medicine where she learned the foundations of medicine and aesthetics, then she moved on to specialize in general and aesthetic dermatology while also working in an urgent care. Aesthetics is now her passion and she has invested years of full time patient care, attended dozens of conferences, multiple cadaver labs, and is always reading, learning, and practicing to make sure she is at the top of her industry. Safety, effectiveness, and natural results are extremely important to the practice. Mena specializes in creating a natural look and always wants her work to be undetectable. Her goal is for you to look and feel healthy, have healthy skin, and have balanced facial proportions.

Dr. Kearney and PA Mena always want to stay up to date in this rapidly growing industry and are very intentional with patient safety and treatment services offered.
